Historic 24.0% drop in turnover for service enterprises in the first quarter of 2021

Vienna, 2021-06-04 – In the first quarter of 2021, the turnover of Austrian service enterprises decreased by 24.0% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, as Statistics Austria reports. The main reason for this massive decline is the shutdown of a large part of the enterprises as part of the measures to contain the corona pandemic.

Turnover of trade enterprises increased by 3.5% in nominal terms, sales volumes increased by 1.0% compared to the first quarter of 2020.
