Classification notification for ÖNACE 2008
For the production of economic statistics, it is necessary that each enterprise is classified according to its economic activity. This classification is based on the NACE classification of economic activities applicable in the European Union, which is called ÖNACE in a national version. ÖNACE 2008 has been in force in Austria since 2008.
Legal basis, data protection
In accordance with Section 21 of the Federal Statistics Act 2000 (Federal Law Gazette No. 163/1999 in the current version), Statistics Austria is obliged to provide every Austrian company with written information about its classification assignment free of charge.

Obligation to provide information, survey criteria
Your classification notification can be accessed with a click on “Classification notification”. Your questionnaire will be activated by entering the user ID and password sent by Statistics Austria by post. If you have outdated access data (sent before December 16, 2013), we ask you to fill out the access data request form.
If you have not yet received access data for the electronic notification from us, please provide us with your company data in the access data request form. You will then be sent the access data for the classification notification to the email address you provided.
In this web application you can download your currently valid classification notification.
If the classification assigned by Statistics Austria is incorrect, you have the option of using this web application to send us relevant information regarding the economic activities actually carried out.
If your assignment to an ÖNACE code is correct, we also ask you to confirm it in the web application.
Notes on the web application:
The classification is stored for the production of economic statistics in the Business Register of Statistics Austria. Of course, all your information will be treated with the maximum confidentiality and will only be used for statistical purposes.
