In the fifth decade of the digital revolution, the amount of data is growing exponentially worldwide. This is a great opportunity for evidence-based decisions in society, business and politics with which more growth and prosperity can be achieved, more ecological, economic and social sustainability can be and today's crises can be better overcome. However, information and knowledge are growing far less dynamically than the amount of data. As a result, many development opportunities remain unused. The Statistics Days 2023 will focus on the question of what conditions must be met so that the growing wealth of data can be better used for the benefit of society. New developments in academic, official and applied statistics will be presented and discussed, such as the use of new data sources, the application of new methods and models, or questions of data governance and data stewardship.
